How is the playerbase for this on the PC? Also, it's accurate to say that Xbox Live gamers and PC gamers don't get to vs each other correct?

I don't want to buy it and only have 5 people to play against.
 
There is a thread for the game. I haven't played online lately as I have been practicing with my new arcade stick. When I was playing online I didn't have problems getting matches. It's PC vs PC as far as I can tell. And the game rocks and is tons of fun.
 
There are always people playing Endless and Ranked matches, but nobody plays tournament/team mode.
 
No one play in Tournament mode or team mode even on consoles...

PC version is not as populated as Xbox 360, but definitely not far from that.

I always find people online to play with at any minute, even when its 4 AM in the morning.
