Hey everyone, TIA for any help in this and forgive me if this was addressed in an earlier thread. I am interested in setting up my first WC system. Specs:

Athlon 64 3200+ (stock, for now ;) )
1 gb ddr 3200 ram
80 gb SATA western hd
XFX 6800 gt (370mhz/1000)

what i want out of a WC system is, primarily, quiet. overclocking isn't that high a priority. because of this, i was thinking of the zalman resorator

with a swiftech mcw50 block

i was also thinking of the huge dangerden 6800 gpu waterblock, but it's expensive and i'm concerned the weak pump in the zalman wouldn't be able to pump enough water through it and the cpu block.

my question is, do you guys think this system is viable? the zalman tubing is 8mm inner diameter. is this compatible with the swiftech? i know the swiftech is 1/2 inch and i'd have to get the 1/2 to 3/8 barb.

any help/info appreciated.

If you're going to get a Reserator, you might as well get the GPU block designed for it. There's no need for a higher performance GPU block if your WC system isn't designed for overclocking.

thanks for the reply, the only problem is zalman doesn't make a GPU block that fits my 6800 gt yet. last i heard, at least.

second, i read one review of the zalman gpu block that showed it being worse than air cooling (it's a straight through "pipe"-type aluminum block).

Well, I have reserator and I am using Innovatek Water block. It works great!
Also, Zalman tubing fits standard Innovatek fitting so there is no need for you to tinker with the block.

Here is the link for water block.

Also, I have added innovatek's passive radiator in conjuction with zalman to help cool better with maintaining zero noise envoirment.

Here are some pics.

Here is pic of zalman xpu block and innovatek 6800 block in my case.
