Synology DS212+ or Qnap TS-219P II?

I'm looking for a good value 2-bay NAS. I heard it's pretty much either Synology or Qnap when it comes to these pre-built NAS.

My main criteria are fast read and write speeds in RAID-1. It would be nice to have USB 3.0 input as well.

Any comments on either of these two models and or any other models that I should consider? I'm not exactly sure what kind of benefits I'll be getting by going with even higher end 2-bay models.

I'm looking to mainly backup my RAW photos and a small music collection.

I'll probably be using Hitach 3TB or 4TB hard drives.

I bought 219P II in december (around 300€) and in my opinion it is not worth it by far. Yes it has tons of features but they are semi usable at most. For that amount of money, you can get atom itx setup with even more HDD space, not to mention option to install whatever you want.
