I want to upgrade some stuff, but I'm not sure what. Nothing too extremly major. But $500 or so would be fine. I was thinking maybe ram and mobo so I can overclock. Any suggestions?

I'd say add a DVD Burner, no performance boost, but lots of nice stuff to do with it.

I second that. You could also get a bigger or faster HD for all your pr0... "stuff."

I wouldn't touch the core (mobo/cpu/ram) unless you are needing additional performance. I'd go with the DVD burner and maybe dual monitors.

nah, I'd get a new cpu. 3500, 3700. I like performance boosts better than what my cd,dvd,rw-rom can do.

well not exactly... i know people who are at 2.7 ghz on a 3000+, fine proc for the time

But where I only have a S754 CG stepping Clawhammer.... could I overclock my CPU that high? I doubt it. However I might be able to get like 2400mhz or something. Is it worth it to buy a new motherboard (with an Nforce chipset and AGP/PCI lock), decent OCing ram and a new cpu cooler, just to try and see if I can get a faster CPU?
