I plan to order the stuff below within the next couple of days, but I need all the advice I can get as I have been out of the loop for a while.

- Is the PSU powerful enough or should I go for something a bit better?
- How long will the video card last me? I didn't go with the 8800 as it is too expensive.
- Is the RAM any good and will I have to run it at a slower speed if I run the CPU at stock FSB? I plan to overclock in the future but I want to keep it relatively stock for now (I'm wary of overclocking new parts and I think it will be fast enough for now).

All of this comes in at a total of $975 with shipping and tax ($920 after rebates). Could I get a much better deal?

Thanks in advance.

I would change out the PSU for something more reliable, better built, little more power. Corsair is always worth looking into apparently, the 520 should do you well, about to buy one myself for a new system, problem is though, it's quite a bit more expensive than the Antec.

As far as the video card goes, I would assume that will last you for awhile. When dx10 comes out, the games that support it will be backwards compatable, so I honestly can't see anyone dumping that much into a video card, unless they wanted the 1337 fps.

The ram should do you just fine, with an e6400 you sould be able to run it at 3.2ghz (8x400) without breaking a sweat, which would be a 1:1 ratio on the ram.

RAM seems fine and the video card should last you a little while, but you could get a better power supply as the previous poster said.

Agreed.

Go with the goodpower danny recommended, if you're on a budget. Its the same oem as antec's 500w sp2.0. Though, if you could afford it, the Corsair 520W would be a better choice. I also agree with Ladicius in regards to the vidcard.

Heh, I just built a system with that same CPU/Mobo/RAM for someone. Booted up, first try, without any problems (F7 BIOS). You can keep the FSB at 266 and increase the ram multiplier if you want (stock setting is 2, 2*266=533; set it to 3*266=800). You might as well OC it, since its pretty damn easy with those parts. I bumped the voltage to 1.33125 (from 1.325) and its stable at 8*400=3.2Ghz on stock cooling. Just leave the ram at 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8v and you'll be fine up until about 433... after that, you'll have to play with tthe ram settings more, lol. You could optimize the timings once you find the speed you want to stay at. Other components used in this build are the goodpower 500w, Seagate 7200.10 250GB, and a 7600gt oc (BFG). A tuniq tower will be installed, soon.

I'd go with the seagate 7200.10 320gb over the WD3200KS. Its a bit faster, but might be a bit louder as well. My 320gb gets 65MB/s; my WD2500KS gets 55MB/s; and my raptor gets 78MB/s.

Go for it. Its made by Seasonic, I believe. Someone will correct me if my memory is playin tricks on me.
