today I upgraded from athlon xp to a64(reformatted and installed XP home) and twice in the past 20 minutes I've got this message followed by my computer restarting, it's pretty annoying and I wouldn't doubt if it keeps happening.

I'm surprised this still has to be posted and asked, but you have the classic Sasser virus. When that message pops up, go to your run box, and type "shutdown -a" without the quotes. That will cancel the shutdown, and let you remove the virus, and patch your box.

In the future, download AutoStreamer, and slipstream SP2 into your disc. Then your patched up to SP2 during the install.
 
well thanks for the reply, I was expecting it to be from not having service pack 2, I've been having trouble activating windows xp so I havent installed it yet.
