Close to my setup except I went for the E6550.

Is your mobo getting along with the OCZ ram ok? My OCZ wouldn't run at stock speeds without fiddling with the settings a TON.

had to set the voltage at 2.1, but other than that, its cool.

OCZ Ram is cheap stuff though. Wouldn't work on my Dell cause voltage wasn't supported.

I had mine to 2.2v and it still wouldn't run set to "auto" or even severely relaxed timings.

Is that variance in core temperatures normal?

Also, don't mind the voltage reading in CPU-Z, my mobo has issues w/ CPU-Z so I had to turn the voltage sensor off in the ini.

Before I forget, I want to thank everyone who has posted results here, particularly the Q6600 G0 stepping owners. I had a B3 stepping Q6600 that was OC limited due to volts and heat issues. I gathered information from here and a couple other forums to determine what the top batch numbers were. Then I went shopping... the 8th store I went to had the CPU I wanted, a low number L737:)

My new CPU has supassed all expectations, and its performance will soon be rewarded with a water cooling set up to determine what it is really capable of. Luck played a part, because I found this CPU on the back shelf of a one man PC store operation. But I knew what to look for because everyone here took the time to determine their results and batch numbers and then post them. This thread was a great resource for me.

Will post the last three code numbers when I see the box at home. Will also be testing an L737B277 in a few. Unlike some of the higher code L737s, this chip will hopefully be from that golden flock.

Hm... videomasterz, will you be including the Pentium Dual Cores based on the Core2 into this DB? Like the E2140/E2160/E2180/E2200/etc?

Nice OC Mark.
You got another one?!

Thanks :)

Heh, I did get another one. I got it off of the [H] F/S forum actually, a confirmed (new and never opened) L737B2. It has a November pack date, which is when most of the "storied" 737s were packaged. It's become a side-interest of mine to find a golden Quad... I guess I'm part of that "XtremeSystems hunt for the 4.0ghz" mentality :) It's a little obsessive, but with what I've been able to sell in the process, it isn't hurting the piggy bank and it sure is fun. Nevertheless, this will be my last. I'm satisfied with 3600ghz on the current chip, although I'm a bit dismayed that it took water cooling to get there. My initial plans were to watercool in order to reach the 3.8-4.0 realm. The 734 is keeping cool at 3.6ghz, but the fact that it needs 1.45v at load (which calls for 1.5v at idle) suggests that I won't be taking it too much further. Also, everything I've seen both here and at XS suggests that most L734As top out at 3.6-3.7ghz with water.

It was either try with one last quad or get a new motherboard, and with my replacement 680i's mcp keeping cool at 45-50c, I think I'll hang on to it for a while. I'm not going to get an evga 780i, which uses the same cheap power phase design and electrolytic capacitors as its predecessor, and opinions on the Striker II Formula seem to see-saw from it's great to it sucks. Not very encouraging.

Not bad, did you really need that much voltage to achieve that OC? Or did you just not play with it? I'm curious is all...not insulting or anything :) Seems like that HSF would do better than my Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 .

1.3250 (lowest my BIOS will do)= Orthos stable for four seconds
1.3350 = Orthos stable for several minutes
1.3750 = Orthos stable for four hours+. I used this one because the only other person with a 2 L2 stepping E6400 oc'd at 3.2GHz had it at that on this list.

I should go try 1.3450/1.3550/1.3650 some time. I am very pleased with my recent purchase (Abit IP35 Pro, that corsair ram, and a 8800GTS 512------ original hardware was an ASRock ConRoe-XFire-eSATA2, crappy Geil memory that would only stay sable with one stick, and a total crap Radeon x1650pro)

Interesting. Well thanks for your response, I was just curious because my 6300 does 3.65 on water at 1.525, but will do 3.325 at 1.32V...seems like your 6400 would do higher with the same voltage.

What stepping is it? I'm guessing if I had the newer stepping I could OC higher w/ a lower voltage (same deal when the G0 Q6600 came out).

This will hold me over for awhile. Only upgrade I'll do will be to step up my 8800GTS 512 to a 9800GX2/9800GTX/9800GT depending on price/power requirements/performance.

6 B2 stepping, i've got a few entries in the chart, some air some water. Check it out :) I'm towards the top of the list on the 6300's, I can't beat Vexeus for some reason and I've converted back to air anyway in preparation for QuakeCon that is 6 months away, lol.

I can't wait until QC08 registration starts!
