Well if you are interested, I could crate it and ship them :) For a price that is :)

Oh yeah, they also have the SNMP modules on them and come with the rack ears. I'm selling these two, plus 3 racks (like the one the apc's are mounted to), 3 monitors, a 3com cellplex 7000 switch, 5 fiber sc/sc 15' mm cables, and ups label printer. All for $200 (local pickup).

sigh... i hate you... allright how much to crate the ups'? (runs away)

I'm sure I could go find a large box and buy some hard styrofoam. I'd say $235 including fedex shipping would be good for both units.

oww, damn na i cant do that...

i have a smart ups 1000 that needs new batteries, think im going to get a pair of boat batteries instead of those little lead-acids, get like 2 days runtime rofl

Here's my simple network. It's no where near as impressive as most of your guy's setup, but I think it's pretty good for the dorms.

new2.jpg

The beige computer on the far left is my main desktop. The black computer under the desk is my server (for internal school lan CS server + web page). The laptop is my new Powerbook G4. The LCD is hooked up to all three and with a simple push of a button on it, I can switch between the three.

new1.jpg

A close-up of the server (and my subwoofer). The Gigafast 5-port switch I use is just out of the shot under the desk (along with the cable monstrosity underneath it too).

new8.jpg

The only other shot I could find of my desktop and the server, plus a little bit of the cable mess and the crap all over the floor next to it.

I plan to sell a bunch of old hardware I brought back here with me so that I can finance future upgrades to all three... I'm pretty sure with the three computers and all of their accessories, I account for the most power usage in this dorm hall.

nice LCD monitor !

I could not live without my MS Ergonomic keyboard, I have one both at home and work.... I used to get real bad shoulder pains before when using a standard keyboard :(

you really need to be able to touch type almost to perfection before attempting to use an ergonomic keyboard, although its possible to not touch type.... if you are one who can touchtype, you will know as I do that you can use a keyboard which has no letters on the keys to use it without errors....

the keyboard took me roughly a fortnight to learn it, with a few different typing positions etc, worked out fine in the end tbh ;) I know many people who have bought then, god bored trying and sold them back on.... if I continued to use my standard keyboard I would probably have by now developed a very bad shoulder injury (it was killing me before I started using the ergo).....

if you are someone like me who types nearly all day then an ergonomic keyboard is a MUST HAVE !
