Hi, I am new here and I have a few questions. I plan to buy a PS3, and we all know it is going to have an HDMI port for 1080p signals (unless Sony has lied to us again). I want a 20-21 inch monitor but if I really need to I will go 24'. There aren't any monitors with HDMI yet (but that Benq one is coming soon). But I know I can take HDMI and convert it to DVI without video quality loss. So I can connect my PS3 to almost any monitor. The problem here is that the 20-21 inch monitors have only 1050 pixels. The monitor I am interested in are the Gateway FPD2185W and the Samsung 215tw. To these monitor support 1080p somehow but maybe shrinking the image or letting it bleed off a bit? What do you guys recommend for a monitor that can accept 1080p signals with DVI (or with HDMI)? I am looking in the <$800 dollar range and preferably <24 inch. Thanks a lot!

The majority of 20-22" WS LCD's won't do 1080p. You'll have to get a 24" to get 1920x1200 res which will fit 1080p. I'm not sure PS3 will game at 1080p, I thought it was mainly for Blue Ray movies.

Some games will be in 1080P. A Few initially. Maybe further down the console's life yes. It is really up the developers.

You're better off with the Benq

Now that I think about it, what is so special about the benq? So what if it has HDMI? Isn't HDMI just like DVI with sound? It's not like the benq is going to have 5.1 Surround Sound.
