The x800XL

So, according to this news blurb, the x800XL should be just a little faster than the x800pro, retailing at only $350. Do we think that this will actually happen? I am not really sure of the differences between the x800XL and the x800pro, besides that the xl has 16 pipelines. I wonder how well the XL will overclock though. If it can get up on par with the PE like the x800 pro was able to, I think I might just pick myself up an XL

I guess ATI wanted to rearrange the cards lineup so there is competition for the 6800 vanilla pricewise.

X800 Pro = 6800 vanilla
X800XL = 6800GT

Well if the x800XL performs as they say it will (about on par with the x800xt?) and at only $350, that is quite a steal. In order to make the x850 even worth considering, all of their claims of 20% increase in performance and such would really have come true. Otherwise, you would be paying $100 more for nothing but a 2-slot cooling solution. Since the press has their hands on the x850's as of today, feedback should be available soon. Guess we can cross our fingers that the x800XL will be their 6800gt.
