Gah, seeing these Armor Jr. cases keeps reminding me that I really should sell the one I have sitting around/collecting dust here in the house ... :p

System I built for a friend, rather show that than my Xaser III where the wiring hasn't changed since 2005...but I guess you could compare my build style from then to now.

Xaser III, AMD 2600+ (333MHz) 2GB DDR 3200, ATI x700, IBM/Hitachi drives (1x125GB, 1x200GB, 2x250GB) & 3 optical drives. The ATI 9700 pro with the Zalman HP in the photo, didn't survive the trip over to the US, memory glitch.

Next system will be a Tt Shark (best looking case on the market for almost 3 years IMHO)...which is looking like sometime around April-July.

My forgotten PC. Most things I have sold except for the CPU, motherboard, HDD's, case, and X-Fi Fata1ty.

31 pages and no love for the LanboxLite ??? More (better) pics when I get my fan controller.

when i get around to putting a second computer together from all my RMA'd componants, thats the case I'd like to use. small, sexy, portable.

thats the case I'd like to use. small, sexy, portable.

to be honest, its pretty large... and not that portable (excluding the version with the handle, of course). Sexy is subjective, but I ll agree with you on that one.

My old QPack was smaller and easier to move, but no where near as good looking, not to mention the interior is difficult to work with.

edit: heres a few pics with the fan controller:

Thanks Gents.
I still have to finish the top plate to replace the ugly plastic on the Armor. Unfortunately, that piece met it's demise in a horrific polishing accident and is now in the scrap heap.

@ Guitarrasdeamor,

Your top side panel fan is exhausting. Not an effective placement. Best direction to have a side panel fan facing is intaking directly onto the CPU cooler.

Oh...I put it there to suck out hot air...they both should be intaking? That would mean only 1 fan (the back) is exhausting.

And the power supply, best to have that top side fan blowing air in cause at the moment the CPU fan and side fan are creating a turbulent air flow inside the case, best to have as much cool air on the CPU as possible, or flowing that direction.

Actually I have a quick question to the guys that own the shark case in particular, has anyone tried fitting an nVidia 9800 series into their system yet, does it even fit, as I have read that the card is 26.7 cm long (10.59") apparently it's 3 cm longer (about 1/2"), will it fit?

Just making sure as I really want this case, and I'm hoping that it will fit when I build it, or I'll have to look for something not as good looking.

Okay, going by the photo's of other systems such as

officermartinez

DSCN7876.jpg

and devil_trigger

100_3090.jpg

I think it might just fit, I was first alarmed by the measurements in the review by Tom's Hardware stating that the card is the same length as the 8800GTX, Ultra and the Radeon 3870x2 (26.7cm/10.51"). looking at Devil_trigger's setup, the card looks like it ends roughly halfway up the IDE sleeve (yeah I know it's not a shark, but it has the GTX) cover and then going by OfficerMartinez' photo the IDE sleeve ends pretty much where the 3.5" drive bay used to be prior to his mod (cool mod by the way).

So after all the working out, the card is 10.5", the mainboard on average is 9.6" wide, I figure the length from the edge of the HDD bay to the PCI slot cover is about 11" but I'll measure my Xaser III when I get home as it's roughly the same dimentions although the Shark appears to have the drive bay up against the front since, the front fan is not on the inside of the case unlike the Xaser III.

:update:
Here's an updated pic of the inside of my system (it looks better than it did with the Antec 500 Smart Power that gave up, and it's a non-window case so when I built it tidiness wasn't a priority, airflow was).

2404161327_e3068fab1b_o.jpg

Cleaned up my cables quite a bit from my last pictures....still not the best. If I get some more experience, I might start drilling some holes for the cable management.

Tell me how I need to setup my fans. I have 2 fans on the side (top blowing out bottom coming in), 1 in front coming in, and the back one exhausting. IDK which way I should face the CPU HS/F to get the best airflow, but I know I need to switch the side fans to all blowing in, but leave the back and front fans.
