Can you post a link to the 4800+? 4600+ is the highest I can find on their website.
 
how does 4800x2 compare to conroe 6600? There are almost the same price, so which would be a better buy?
 
4800+ appears to be gone. Damn it. Also missed out on the eWiz 4400+ due to their site "going away" earlier this afternoon.

As for "No AM2", well no shit. Not all of us are ready to rush out and buy a new MB & RAM just to get a different socket CPU. Personally, if I were, I'd be switching back to Intel after many years in the AMD camp. But seeing how one can still get a perfectly decent CPU for S939 boards there's really no point, now is there?

S939 4800+ still in stock for $355 shipped.

I don't think $100 more justifys getting the 4800+ over the 4400+....but its your money.

Are these deals temporary or is this a permanent price drop? I'm really tempted to upgrade to this processor, but I don't wanna rush it.

I do bleive amd stopped production on all 1mb cached chips other than the fx series. So i would get it. Plus the price is unbelievable. I bought two. Also you might want to check ewiz.com since they had the x2 4800 earlier for $281. But tigerdirect would be my next bet. Done business with them in the past and never had a problem.

Just ordered it again through Amazon.com. I hope I didn't just buy a second now if the first went through and Amazon is lagging since TigerDirect isn't selling anymore.
 
They are still selling. I placed an order and it just says that they arent shipping till between aug 3-7. So basically they are just waiting on more stock. You can always check your amazon order history.....It updates instantly.
 
Tiger is still backordered, I have not seen the 4800 advertised there it the past few days. Glad I got mine ordered. I don't have a motherboard yet, so I am not in that much of a hurry.

Are you sure about this?
ZZF lists both versions as havin 128kbx2 on the L1 cache.
 
I just checked my order at TigerDirect. The status changed from Backorder to In Process. Things are moving now.

This is correct. There are s939 89 watt and 110 watt versions of the 4400+ X2. There are also slower chips that come in 89 watt versions. I would go for the 89 watt versions if you are looking at a 4400+ X2.

Check the AMD website and you can see the revision's electrical properties:

What's wrong with ZZF? I have a 4400+ ADV4400DAA6CD on order. ZZF says it's packed but the AOE 3 that's being thrown in for free is still processing. I don't even want that game.

This is whats wrong with ZZF

Place an order for a CPU on July 26, 2006, I paid extra for the 2 day shipping. Checked the status of my order on the 26th it went from being process to being packed. Checked again on the 27th where it stated "Shipped" with a tracking number , received a e-mail from ZZF stating my order has shipped again this had a tracking number. My order was suppose to deliver on 7/31. Never received my cpu. I then proceeded to call ZZF and ask whats the deal. They informed me that the cpu is on back order. I then ask the question how does it go from being pack to being shipped to being back order. They blamed their computer system. I've called the Customer Service Manager several time and he hasn't called me back. I might be just one person but if a company does me well I'm very loyal. This is the last time I deal with ZZF for personal or business purchases. I tried to cancel my order. They told me I couldn't because it was shipped in the system.

Yikes, that is kinda shitty. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I haven't had a bad experience with ZZF or NewEgg so far. That shipped to back order status thing is kinda strange. It should have stayed at processing or something. Hopefully both of our chips arrive at some point this week. I've been craving an upgrade for a while now, especially an upgrade to a dual core CPU.
 
The original person I spoke to at ZZF about cancelling my order said they cancelled it, so I ordered another CPU from another company today and that cpu shipped today. Then about 1/2 hr. ago I receive a e-mail from ZZF telling me that they didn't cancel my order but instead shipped it. That means I will have two cpu arrive 8/2.. I will never deal with ZZF again and I will return the CPU and keep the other one from the other company.. in fact I order the 2nd cpu through amazon.com for 20.00 cheaper than ZZF.

I had to call ZZF today and tell them not to hold my fucking order up over some damn game. I couldn't believe it. The processor is packed but they were holding it because Age of Empires 3 is not in stock. The rep was like, "I'll ship the game as soon as possible". I told her to keep it. I don't want the game, just ship me my damn processor, it should have left on Monday. It's supposed to be released but I won't know until later tonight around 9pm NY time. Shoot, I paid $2 for 2 day air service! I want my chip! :D
