Forbes has posted a list today of the Top 10 Life Lessons From Gaming and, as much as I hate to admit it, the list is pretty damn good.

In terms of raw horsepower, the Nintendo Wii lags behind its competitors (Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360). Built around a unique motion-sensing control system, the Wii offers a novel, quirky and cute experience. With more than 20 million units sold, it shows that looks are not the most important thing.

How come they didn't mention nintendo losing billions in it's stock value over the last month? Can't really say the same for Sony or even microsoft, since their stock going down had to do with Yahoo, oh that and their gaming division is a tiny speck on their financial chart.

First off, almost every company has dropped in stock value bigtime over the last three months. The S&P and NASDAQ both dropped 20% from its near term highs. Have you been paying attention to the stock market lately?

Second, Nintendo is down from its peak of $75 to $65 right now. Microsoft is down from $37.50 to $29. Microsoft lost a much much greater percentage of market cap than Nintendo has. Same with Sony, that stock is down from $60 to $40.

This has nothing to do with gaming or losing marketshare (they're not) and everything to do with the brutal bear market we are in right now.
