hi there

i ordered my new amd TR 1920 X and asus prime x-399-a mobo with some sticks of memory modules /cl-16-3200mhz/
and i thought what if i cant order any water cooling solution but reuse some older air heatsinks in my stash.

So i found heatsink from CM big typhoon cooler and made some mounting kit by myself from alu profile 25x3mm in section.
Temps was good 33 deg celsius in idle and 61 deg celsius in full load /stock speeds/
I did some slightly OC with 1,175V and 3800mhz on cpu and my temps was around 68 deg celsius.

Now i am running new air cooled heatsink DYI solution :
Two HR-01 Thermalrights with 6 heatpipes so 12 HP sitting on amd heatspreader ./actually only 10 decause 2 other is just flying in air/
There was a litlle challenging how to put these two heatsink together so much as possible ...
I have to cut all ribs because heatsink base was only 4cmx4cm, then i bought alu profile 40x3mm and made some base for mounting kit 12 cm long. On the ends i drill 4mm holes and put 4 screws into and these screws holding 4 arms which is in direction to the SOCKET holes / its quite longer but that doesnt matter/ these arms i have for long time from my old water colling solution- athlon X2 ages/
but there was a problem i had only 35mm long screws /with good threading -not metric ones/ so i had to lower arms under my base alu holder , i did it by washers and bigger matrixs -act like bigger washers....

this second mounting kit forget to take a pictures from it so i got only pictures from my pc case ....
temps on second solution is 30 idle and 51 deg celsius in full load /rendering in 3ds max/ stock speeds and with slightly OC to 3800mhz with 1,175V is 33 idle and 58 deg celsius
I using one fan on 5V only so it is super quiet maybe when i start do some serious OC it will change .
Sometime cpu fan refuse to spin and i pasively cooled cpu idle at 58 deg celsius .

and sorry for ma bad english .

but quite disapointed with rendering results

stock 3,5 ghz 3:36 /simple exterior scene/ 51 C 1,1 V
3,8 ghz 3:18 55 C 1,175 V
4 ghz 3:14 61 C 1,25 V

I also did exactly like this with my trusty old core i5 650 and a nice Amd64 Cooler i had (artic frozen64) that did not fit intel specs. Worked very well and got 20C less under load and overclocked to 4.4GHZ.
