Transparent Screens

I read about that a long time ago. It's simply a picture they took with the camera just behind the monitor. Then it's edited to match exactly, color, brightness, contrast etc. Pretty neat trick.

I tried this just a week ago with my work PC but I just couldn't get the color right.

Set the camera on a tripod in front of the monitor. Take a picture, remove the monitor, take another picture. Bring both photos into their own layers in a photo editor and use a layer mask or the eraser to show the background on the monitor. For a ghost monitor effect, simply lower the opacity of the monitor layer.
