Hello, I have a dell Inspiron 7000 laptop running win 2k.... whenever i close the lid of the computer it goes into suspend... any way that i can disable it?

As the guy above said, you can change those settings in that option. But why would you want to change the standby behavior? It would save you some battery after all. I'm just curious.

because my computer is to freakishly old (400mhz) it takes it about 2 min to come off of standby.... also i want to be able be running itunes and be able to shut the display and not have my music stop
