TV Tuner Box for my monitor

Basically, I want to use my ASUS VE276Q monitor as a TV in my bedroom (I don't have the box in my room, just basic cable via a coax).

Since I'm completely new to this, I just wanted to ask exactly what I will need to accomplish this before I waste money on something that might be the wrong thing. I looked up some TV cards and external tuners, but I have no idea what the difference between the two is.

I actually have a Kworld 1440 that I picked up off craigslist for 10 bucks, its 720p but it doesnt have a built in tuner, gotta use one of them digital converter boxs, so I only get 480p. I have that setup on a 20 inch samsung thats wallmounted in my kitchen next to the dinner table. Works brilliantly aside from the resolution, but ey it only costed 10 bucks
