so, a CD is stuck in my cd-rom drive. i moved my pc back home and the only way it would fit nicely was on its side.

is there any way of getting the cd out without destroying the drive?

i think this is the best place for this question

Pull the power, pull the drive out. 4 screws hold it in. Once the drive is out, flip the drive over, and find 4 more screws that hold the 2 halves together. Remove those, flip the drive back over again. Carefully remove the upper lid and remove your CD. You may need to eject the tray slightly with a paper clip inserted into the emergency hole.

There is a small hole in the face of your drive just big enuff to stick a paper clip in. Stick a paper clip in it.
