unable to open anything under my computer in windows

i've tried just about everything to solve this problem, but i'm not even sure what the root of the problem is. anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?

yea, if I try to open any folders including my computer and my documents, i get an error message then windows explorer shuts off and restarts. what should i do?
