Unpartitioned Space on Two Identical Hard Drives Differ

Paranoia/OCD question: I have two Western Digital WD10EADS hard drives, and one of them ends up with 7MB of unpartitioned space while the other ends up with 8MB after being partitioned with the Windows XP CD. Both drives have a total capacity of 931GB in their partitioned volumes down to the byte. I'm just wondering why the two otherwise identical drives differ in this area, and whether I have anything to worry about.

Note: Windows XP was installed on the drive with the 7MB unpartitioned space, but both are now pure storage drives. Could the XP installation have left something in the unpartitioned space, and if so, how do I remove it?
