Does anybody know of an upconverting dvd player or codec for use with Windows? I have an upconverting DVD player for my HDTV and the HD-DVD drive for my Xbox 360 that upconverts as well, but sometimes I like to watch DVD's on my computer and they look like ass on a 24" monitor.

Hmm, they dont seem to sharpen the image like an upconverting DVD player does...All they seem to do is just scale the image.

Check the options of the player you're using. VLC has some different processing that can be applied to the video to make them look better.

Are you watching them in full screen at your monitors native resolution?

Media player classic + ffdshow is my setup. They are very good.

An easier way to do it is to set all components to hardware acceleration, and let a good video card do all the deinterlacing, upscaling and processing. You also want to use a good DVD decoder like NV Purevideo decoder if you're using WMP. The VLC media player has its own built in DVD decoder.
