what kinda of speed improvement would i see if i went from a 2600 XP (333) L2 256k based cpu on a soyo kt400 ultra plat board, to a vince 3000/939 pin and MSI Neo2 Plat board?

correct me if im wrong but i have a x800XL AIW AGP card oced to 550/1000 and feel that im bottlenecking it with the cpu and how low i have the ram running. I have 2x512 XMS pc2700 sticks that can do 3200 speeds np (tesed in in a xp 3200 400FSB system similar to mine).

my current system (2600 XP is oced to 2.3 at 1.75v (bus is 368 for both cpu and ram, AGP is 76) so its faster than normal, but not at 400Mmhz.

Will i see a wow gain if i upgrade to a vince core (will OC), and keep it mainly 32bit bound for the time being with the new built in memory controller and much higher bus that the chip offers?

id recommend the upgrade, i went from a 2800+ OC @ 2.3ghz 440mhz fsb to a A64 3200+ OC @ 2.2ghz 400mhz fsb and in a game like BF2 the a64 blew the hell out of my XP in playablilty. with the xp in bf2 i could tell it was bottlenecking my x850xt-pe max playable setting was 1280x960 with medium detail right when i upgraded the cpu and mb, the system was handling bf2 1600x1200 50-90fps which i must say impressed me alot only thing that keeps me from playing at 1600x1200 is you can tell the game wants 2gb of mem for the textures.

i may upgrade my memory, get another stick of soild 1GB of ram if i go with the upgrade, right now im seeing frame rats of about 25-70 in gta san andreas, 31-100 in farcry and other games follow. is this normal? i run most games at 1280X1024 @85 refresh. most high end games like farcry ill see about about 30-40 when in an open enviorment, and about 60-100
inside like a cave or building. this is with full settings and AA set to none.

i thought i would see better frame rates from upgrading to a x880XL card witch is a an X800XT just with defualt lower clock speed and a slower capture adapter (witch i oced to XT speeds).... i use Omega 5.7 drivers... and tweek my system correctly. just though i would see better with what i had, i knew there would be a BN but didnt think it would be this bad..

i advise you to with a 3500+ to really feal the difference ......

i think he plans on overclocking, so the 3000+ would be the best price/perf.

Yeah i have a limit to what I can spend (less than 300 USD) on the upgrade, and with the MSI neo 2 plat MB it seems that its one of the best OCing boards for AGP/939. I might have gone with a higher level core if there was one in a reasonable price range that was a socket 939 that had 1bm of l2 cache... but like I said imp wanting to stay under 300
If you have recommendations for other NForce 3 boards that have AGP let me know and ill take a look.
