use HP Printer w/o color ink cartridge

I have an HP 920c printer. I dont have a color cartridge in it, just a black one. The printer still wont let me print. Is there any way around this? I wont be printing in color, so I dont want to spend the $30 for the color cartridge.

not usually -
you have an old used color cartridge? put it in and hope the printer does not detect it as empty... if it does - well - wet the tip of the cartridge with water - sometimes gets past the detection.
otherwise get a ink refill kit or buy a new cartridge

I'm pretty sure our printers won't print without a cartridge in the slot. The best thing you could do it find an empty one and stick it in. It should still print, but it will give you out of ink warnings. If not, just by the cheapy knock off brand ones. It won't give you the same color quality, but you can print for now and when it runs out, leave it in.
