I can get a
  • 560 ti 1Gb for $225 - $20 MIR
  • 6950 2GB for $260 - $20 MIR
  • 2x XFX 6790 1GB for $220 (NOT 6970!!)
*Canadian Dollars

GPU would be paired with a 2500k, monitor resolution 1080p, Antec Earthwatts 750w Green.

I hate MIR a LOT so I'm thinking about 2x 6790 1GB. I've never tried a crossfire setup yet. I'd prefer to have more vRam for BF3 by using the 6950 2GB but I'm planning to upgrade 2 PCs (so 2x or 4x cards) and with MIR restrictions to 1 per household I'd have to pay a lot more vs the 6790 1gb crossfire setup.

That's a remarkable price for those HD6790s, but to be honest? It's not really worth it. The performance gap between the HD6790 and the HD6950 is enormous, typically 70-80%. Given that crossfire at best scales to 95%, less in a few games, you're really not gaining much. If I were you, I'd buy the HD6950 - even if the rebate doesn't come, you're still better off.

That 6950 2GB seems like it would be a helluva deal. Especially with BF3 gnawing on vram the way it does.
