Been having this irritating problem on several computers, home and work. Basically Vista remembers the last disk that was in the room drive. Takes a reboot for my computer to show the drive as being empty.

Also been having a lot of problems with Vista showing burnt cd's and dvd's as being blank and writeable but XP can read their contents fine.

Anyone come accross this?

Are you using the 32bit or 64bit version. Will test this tonight and see.

I had the same issue a couple of years back, ended reflashing the dvd drive and problem was solved :D

I had that happen once. But then I put the DVD back in and it read it fine. I've burned other DVDs w/o the problem, it was only one time.

Saw that problem more than once with XP. A reboot was needed to fix it. It was intermittent, and I never really solved it until I did a windows reinstall...

Vista 32bit and 64bit. Ultimate, Business and HP. Reinstalled the computers several times. I'll see if I can flash one of the drives maybe that will fix it.
