so my current hard drive which is this one, its a
Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JD 160GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM
(newegg link didnt work)
and i also have this mobo

so my problem is that the hard drive is running out of space, so im obviously gonna need this upgrade, but i see the 3.0gb/sec hdd
specifically these:

one offers a little more space for a little more, i think they should be the same, and should have similar long life spans?

well my main concern is if these hard drives will work with my mobo. Also it should be faster than my sata150 right? I think they should. i think i might need a raid cable eh? thanks!!

Those are good drives, but it looks like that motherboard only supports SATA at 150 rather than the 300. They will work fine ( I have a WD drive similar to those in my A8N-SLI), but they won't go up to their full 3 Gb/sec potential.

Yep... You will rarely get burst rates above 150MBps anyway, it's all marketing in the end :p

so if i want to speed, i would have to go with a 74gb raptor then huh?
