I've got a Samsung SyncMaster 204B sitting here on my desk, and I was hoping to grab another matching monitor (if not matching, at least black bezel and 1600x1200). Where did they all go? The next option for x1200 Rez is a 24" widescreen which is either more of the same TFT panels at ~$450 or sky high prices for non TFTs.

Any thoughts on where to still get a 1600x1200 LCD for maybe ~$250?

eBay buy-it-now with 30% cashback is a good idea for you.

I'd get anothe Samsung 204 or a Dell 2007FPb. I got my 2007FPb for less that $130 after rebates.

They were transformed into 24" :)
It is a simple matter od adding 160 pixels to both sides and you can raise the price of the new monitor significantly :)

The widescreen maffia pushed the 20" wide into the market as having more working space..

Check out the Dell 2007FP: Either PVA or IPS.

FWIW, the Samsung Syncmaster 204B was quite popular around [H]ere at one time, so just a heads-up! to those of you still clinging to that 1600 x 1200 4:3 aspect ratio goodness

dammit! BAD CAPS!

mine had been left on nearly perpetually for 5+ years before the problems began - repairable & ready next week

I use two NEC 2090UXi's. They're H-IPS with A-TW polarizers to reduce purple glow.

I still use two Samsung 213P monitors with one of my rigs. Awesome for side-by-side work, like creating documentation (copy/paste across screens) or music (rack in one screen, sequencer in the other).
