So I finally desided to take the leap to ddr2 but i have a proplem, i can't deside what brand of ram sticks to get.
so i have narrowed it down to these three 2gb kits:

1. G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400, 4-4-4-12)

2. Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC6400 (4-4-4-12)

3. CORSAIR Dominator 2GB (2 x 1GB ) DDR2 800 (4-4-4-12)

so witch ram reighs subreme. of course if you gues know some other brand of memory's that whould be even better please let me know.
it would really help if you gues whould post your overclocks here.

the board that i will be using is most likelly going to be asus commando paired. with intel x6800.

The Dominators are Promos chips. Like wdn said, they don't dominate anything.

Firestix or G.Skill "HZ" (that's what the P/N ends in).

I got my HZ in today and they're D9GMH

how high do those firesticks and g-skill sticks usually clock. give me hard data.

if your going to be running a Commando w/X6800, the ultimate fastest setup would require DDR1000 4-4-4-8 so you can run the 4:5 divider at 400FSB or less. of course running the 2:3 divider at DDR1200 or less would be faster but only marginally and for an astronomical difference in price. all of the below is based on the premise that the commando has the same chipset characteristics of the P5B-Dlx seeing as they are basically the same boards. if not, then scrap what i am spewing ;)

FSB400 or less is faster than FSB400+ and with the X6800 multi, you should just adjust that to stay at < 400FSB. the 4:5 divider has the tightest chipset latencies of any of the dividers so running that would be ideal. plus it only puts memory at DDR1000 at FSB400 or less.

basically either of those above kits "should" run DDR1000 4-4-4-8 but the Dominators might be hit&miss. everyone is going to jump in and say you need D9s and to spend a pile of money...not true. my Team Xtreem Dark run DDR1000 4-4-4-8 all day long at 2.3v and only cost $231 @ Tankguys. of course, they aren't gauranteed to run DDR1000 4-4-4-8 but hopefully the majority of kits will.

like i said though, plenty of "cheaper" kits will run DDR1000 4-4-4 and that is all you should be looking for IMO. Even running 1:1 and staying at FSB400 or less will only require DDR800 and if you can find something that runs DDR800 3-4-3-8 then that will likely be about the same performance...within 1-2% at least. HTH

Seriously, the Buffalo Firestix are the best deal out now, period.

Alternatively, I'd suggest the Team Xtreem DDR2-800 kit.
Should basically always hit around DDR2-1050+ speeds, & often DDR2-1000 4-4-4 even.

keep em comming gues, if some one has screen shots of high clocks i whould like to see em.
