875P chipset with no onboard LAN

ive already orderd them both and have a choice between them.

im building a computer for anouther family and bought a mobo with it..and got the IC7 instead of the IC7-G...and that was going to be my board...and now im debating wheather to get the AI7.....is the chipset really worth the no LAN?...and in most reviews ive seen the 865PE chipset beat 875Ps meraculasly....please respond..

The 875 is a refurb and doesn't support Prescotts.

Had this been for you I would have suggested a mobo that uses the i865 or i875 but could run the 775 Prescotts.

The lack of a NIC is no biggie seeing as you can pick them up for $5.

Where did you read that an i865 will spank an i875? Was it purely on an overclock basis? The i875 with PAT will beat an i865. If the i875 had 4x512 double sided memory the i865 cannot keep up, so long as the i865 is not overclocked. Not all boards can overclock when you have 4 sticks of 512DS.

the tomshardware guide when the chipsets first came out they did a bench on am all and the 865PE did some damage to the 875P...but not like a spank...more like a tap on the butt....but which one should i use?..they are already on their way...
