It's a bit hard to find any comparisons of Crossfired 6870s against more current videocards so I figure I'll ask here.

What single nVidia card should I be looking at from nVidia to replace my pair of 6870s?

What card would be comparable to what I have?
And what card would provide more performance?

I'm trying to get an idea of what it will cost me.

Games I play currently, SWTOR and Diablo3 at 1920x1200 with other stuff like Skyrim and MW3 mixed in. I play all currently at max settings. Specs are in my sig.

Thanks!

The only card you should really be looking at is the 670, assuming you have a budget. The GTX 580 is slower than CF 6870 and the GTX 680 is less than 8% faster than the 670.

The 670 should be faster than the 6870 CF in raw performance, and should provide a smoother framerate and less stuttering.

Went from dual 6870's to 670.. Performance is significantly better from a stutter perspective.

I also went from cfx 6870's to a 670. It's a great move. After selling my 6870's it was only about 100 ish out of pocket and now another and much much quieter. And I game at 1440p.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm guessing I can sell the 6870s for $150 a piece shipped, does that sound right?

If they are 2gb cards then you should get close to that. If there 1gb more like 125ish

Unless they have exotic cooling, then more like $125 as I just picked up new XFX 6870s for my sons gaming PCs for $130 a/r.

I don't know the market for 6870's but just to put it in perspective I picked up a 6950 2GB with shader unlock to 6970 for $190 shipped. I'm pretty sure that was a killer deal from a fellow member.

I see newegg has them for 159 after rebate with free shipping. If you want it to move fast in a more and more bloated market with everyone upgrading I'd suggest going a bit lower in final price.

Every day that goes by it gets that much harder to get rid of 6000 series hardware b/c all us [H]ard guys are upgrading.

me? I'll continue to be happy with my 6900 series Crossfire setup listed in sig :) I only game at 1920X1080 anyways. I think I'll be good for at least one more year and hope to see a 700 or 8000 series from Red vs Green.
