Soon to be Radeon HD 6970

I have used both nVidia and ATI cards, and been very happy with both. Just bought which ever card was the best performer that year, there is zero point in being a fanboy in technology built by some child labor Asian people in a Taiwanese factory, it's the same bullshit semiconductor parts at the end of the day.

- 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500, my first long card.
- 6800 GT AGP (First serious card)
- 7600 GT PCI-E (First PCI-E card I believe), This and the above were brands I cant remember.
- 6200 TC (flashed to 6600 GT), with HIS-style cooler, my Shuttle system card when I had a Pentium-M system, can't remember brand.
- Sapphire Radeon X850 XT, my super celeron system card (4.5 GHz celeron yay!)
- 8800 GT (can't remember brand, G80 core I believe)
- Gecube Radeon X1600 Pro (broke it by dropping a screwdriver on one of the memory modules and cracking it).
- MSI 9600GSO G92 384 MB
- EVGA 8800GTS G92 512MB
- XFX HD 4850 512MB (after I broke my 8800GTS)
- Gigabyte 8800GT G92 256MB (when I noticed that my XFX card had some memory issues)
- Powercolor (I think) Radeon 4870x2 2GB (when the 8800GT started acting weird, has been my gaming card to date).

Interesting history, there might be more but I simply cannot remember them.

I don't even remember what the names of the cards were when I was young, I just played on them. I started with a 6600 to a 7600 to a 4870 now with a 5730 mobile.

Still trying to figure out my favorite card. Right now I am leaning towards the 9700 pro. At the time I was so happy with the performance. I remember being giddy at the notion that I could play Raven Shield at 1600x1200 on my massive 21inch CRT!

nice thread.

Started back from almost day 1. I have used all the video cards already listed. Seems like yesterday when I got my 1st real 3d card from Voodoo with 4mb of RAM. WOOT.

I do have a bad habit of upgraded video cards (wife speaking there). And looking forward to new ATI 69xx or NVidia GTX 580. I usually only stay with the higher-end cards. Never bothered with midrange or lower. Also have 2 professional workstations at home. I do miss the older days when you could hack a driver to turn a GeForce to Quadro. Man...

Current

5970 2gb - 2 XFire
5970 4gb - 2 XFire
5870 2gb - 4 XFire (2 PCs)
