My specs:
P4c 3.0Ghz
2GB ram
Radeon 9700pro
Audigy Platinum
Infocus 72IN
MCE 2005
(see sig for more)

I was thinking of doing a new build for my HTPC, but then I realized that the sole benefit from that would be being able to play HD contents.
To me, that's not money and time well spent.

I don't play games nor do I do video coding.
The system is used for SD TV and DVD content.
I have had the system for 4 years now, and it has always been stable and smooth.
So, I want to keep it for as long as I can.

What's the cheapest AGP card that will enable my system to play HD contents?

Thanks.

Thanks.
I did see that card while browsing newegg.

I have seen the Radeon 2600 XT PCI-e selling for ~$35.
So, I was expecting to see something in that range for a cheap AGP version.

Well the 2600XT isn't too good for HD playback anyway. Though the HD3450 is capable of HD playback and is only $35 but PCI-E.

Anyway, you might not be able to find any AGP card capable of HD playback for that cheap since you're using such an old interface.
