which vid card

so which card should i pass down to my htpc. using to record ota hdtv.

x700pro or 6600gt

i'm leaning towards the x700pro for htpc since it does alil more then the 6600gt for video. Am i right?

and keep the 6600gt for gaming.
 
The 6600 has purevideo which would benefit your HTPC (better deinterlacing and the like) but either card would be good.
 
go nvidia. better driver support in windows and linux. plus pure video is the hottness right now.
 
cool thanks, i'll read up on the review. i am currently using the purevideo on my ati card right now for video and audio decoding.
 
ATI doesn't have purevideo unless you mean the NV codec which isn't Purevideo but it does expose the Purevideo features on an NV card (they should really intergrate this into the drivers).

yeah thats what i meant. the codec, using the free trial of it.
