Roomate was doing some app cleanup on the whs, removing some things that aren't used anymore (hamachi, ftp client, handbrake etc)...

No reboots in between removing software. Mostly small apps I'd say about 4-6.

After a reboot all was good. about 30 minutes later.. Can't get to the server..

Got hooked up to it, it boots to the CAD screen, no mouse or kb input is accepted.

Cant ping it etc, The gbit intel nic shows one link light. Switch shows link activity.

I'm going to beat some heads if I have to attempt a recover.

I have no ps2 mouse / kb to see if it takes input from that.

Checking my pfsense box, its handing it an IP ~ still cant ping it.

Sounds like services aren't starting up all the way *shrug*

I JUST finished my new SB rig, I don't have time for this shit.

Suggestions?
 
disable roomates login after you get it going again
honestly my first suggestion is the one you can't try. im sure somebody you know has a ps/2 mouse/keyboard/ convertors
 
Finally got to the bottom of it, the x300 I have in the system got a driver update (which got updated :|) and messed it all up. I was able to get it going but only with a ps2 mouse. Some services weren't starting.
