Why I want Ageia to succeed

Okay.
Show me GPU physics (and preformance) instead of "argumentum ad hominem" :)

Terra - Simple as that...(Ockhams razor...)

Show me what your PPU can do other than techdemos and DOS-style effects?

“Show me what your PPU can do other than techdemos and DOS-style effects? ”
I cannot really do that as physics are invisible in screenshots. But in the games I play not only does the PPU improve the way liquids interact with the environment far in advance off none PPU games. But it also offloads all the physics from the CPU boosting my max FPS.

The way liquids interact with the environment is very impressive far better then DOS-syle effects. Did you not watch my Bet:On solider movie in the other tread? Forget about the style of the graphic as that’s nothing to do with the PPU and watch the physics. It’s impressive.

If you think not show me one none PPU game that comes close to liquid physics like that.

EDIT: http://www.stokedrider.com/e3_2006_Stoked_Rider_hq_mov.zip
How about that for gameplay physics? Although short in the movie the avalanche is impressive with the way the snow roles down and over the rocks.

I stated " Like Cell" means no IBM shit So its not Cell itself, but from the competition X86ish. iNTel/AMD it doesnot come from IBM. But its the same kind of idea. Only a lot later in the future, 2010 ish. iNTels and AMD long term plans and roadmaps. With more smaller dieschrinks make this possible with the larger out of order cores wich are common in now aday's Cores. Cell consist out of" in order baby cores". 90nm is a bit to early for this idea. But with small in order cores it is possible with 90nm.

only SPEs arent multipurpose cores. you're rambling.

*points to all of supergee's posts* Can anyone understand anything this guy says?
Is it about my grammar? I even have problems with my native one, so I can't do much better.
Is it because you dont know what
PPE
SPE
PPU
thread parralising
X86 that a instruction set. IA32 AMD64 EMT64 X86-64 This famely of instruction set IA64 is Epic(itanium) one totaly different.
IBM Power PC instruction set. RISC type of intruction set I think.
In order Cores
out of order Cores

If you don't understand this look it up. it's diggin deeper in how CPU work. Not my speciality so some one else could explain it better but for sure it has great influence on how CPU behave Performance wise.

iNTel and AMD have long term plans to Put SPE Specialised Cores beside there General Purpouse Cores. So after 2010 you might or could buy a Desktop CPU with 4 EMT64 cores and some 8 or 16 SPE with it. Like a PPU ondie.

how ever the architekture of PPU is still unkown. I espect some parralising technolegy. Like GPU.

It's definitely your grammar.

You do realize that SPE is a term that the marketting (/development) team for Cell came up with? I doubt AMD or Intel have plans to put a "Synergistic Processing Element" on any of their CPUs. At least google your TLAs before you start talking about them.

You admit this is not your specialty. You are rambling.

No it is not ;)

Notive the MASSIVE internal memory bandwith achitechture...
Something a GPU only can dream of...

Terra - The info is out there...if you look behind the PR-FUD...

Those Cell_ SPE or my mentioned "X86"_SPE are very good for Physx computation so My word still stands. They still are specialised units.

Yes it is. Your links are patent guessing.

Like Each CeLL SPE has no cache but 256K own memory pool. That's known.
For PPU the Clock and how much units and at what scale and sizes of VPE memory and registers they implement there patent and wich patent there are two methods. That still unkown about the PPU
But the Patents let one thing see it would be a very parrallel computing technology.

And I read all the page from the link to, about GamephysX and competition. Very interresting.

//edit a bit.:)

No.. i understand the technical terms, just not what you are actually trying to say. Your sentence structure is very difficult to comprehend.
