I'm at a total loss here.

My wireless connection to my notebook is about 1mbps faster than the one from my router via a cable to my comp. It's not the router, seeing as the connection speed stays the same whether it's hooked up through the router or not. It just doesn't make any sense. From one site on my notebook with my wireless, I'm pulling 550KB/s down. But from my main PC, I'm only pulling about 370-400KB/s from the same host? It just doesn't seem to make any sense...

Can anybody please help me figure out why?

Does the wifi connection happen to be running at 11mbps and the wired at 10mbps? If that's the problem then I'm guessing your wired NIC is limited to 10mbps (older card maybe?) or it's set to half-duplex (10mbps) instead of full duplex(10/100 operation).
