if either co wanted to do something about pricing they would introduce mining cards, like they said they would.
Start tracking coin trades and tax them, they will quit.
Gamers will whine no matter what, without understanding that mining isn't the cause of the price hike...there are many more things out there they ignore, such as Apple and other cellphone makers buying up all the DRAM chips cause that's what they use in cellphones.Another round where miners can buy 10 to 50 Ampere cards and gamers will wine about not finding one for sell . . .
Well, it's cause it's too tempting not to want something that was THE BOMB at some recent point in time. I myself was tempted to buy an RX 580 for $400 from egg, when I saw the price drop.I'm amazed that gamers are still buying (or struggling to buy) two year old gaming GPUs at their original MSRP or higher. World's gone crazy.
I used to have a rule that I never buy 1-year old tech and I thought that was extreme.

Just keep swimming, Auntie, just keep swimming. As Robert DeNiro said in "Ronin", "good things come to those who wait".I am still using a 760 4gb card. I was waiting for the 980ti cards to drop in value when the new ones came out and then mining went into overdrive and even those cards are hard to find for a reasonable price. Seems I'm waiting a bit longer.
No big deal.
It´s pretty much impossible to lockout miners due to using a lot of the same compute. And then they can just make a new coin etc.

This was exactly me. I had been on a 980 ti for a while and almost pulled the trigger back in November, when there were several cards on sale below 700. But it was close to Christmas and I really needed to spend on other people first, so I figured I'd just wait until after the holidays.I think some thought the next gen of Nvidia cards would show up sooner and when they found out it was not it was too late and the supply of cards dried up at prices one would want to pay.
It's just a coincidence! It's the ram prices! It's the Catholics! It's the 'deep state'! It's just the 'zionists'!That is not a coincidence.
The GTX 1080 ti had 600w so maybe 500w only four days left to know the truth

Well I do like a bit of freshness while being fucked.
You got really lucky, they usually lowball big time. Maybe different now thanks to miners.Wow talk about good timing. My Wifes 980ti died an honorable death, and MSI is gladly sending me a $650 check for an RMA since they have no cards to replace it (Funny part is i paid $270 for the card used from the Hardocp forums here 2 years ago).
I hope to hell they announce the 2070/2080 for April 12th. Should be getting my check around then!

The end of the fiscal year is coming up, no way nvidia stockholders will accept no new cards in 2018, and where's all that GDDR6 shit gone?, it's all about to drop for sure.
The silence is deafening!
My Titan X (Pascal) smelled of strawberries when I got it. I don't know if that's an improvement over the bacon scent my GTX Titan X (Maxwell) had.Limited edition lemon scented Titan.
Yea I did not expect a $650 check. Now it was a MSI 980ti Golden Edition so maybe thats why they cut me such a big check? I mean I can pick up a 1080 GTX for that price.
But I think I will hold out a bit. Running an old ass 460 GTX on my main rig now until something comes in. I can mostly game on my laptop, has a 7200U and 960m GTX. IT will work for now.
