When I got Dish I didn't really care too much about being able to record in HD but figure that it would be nice to have now. Also I need another project as my rig is complete untill I build a new one in July.
But anyway back on topic. I have to change TV / audio inputs if I want to watch HD / DVR and would like to remedy this. Ideally what I would like to do is get rid of the DVR reciever all together and use the HTPC as an HD-DVR and as a frontend for everything else. So basically have one single remote and be able to keep my TV/Reciever one one input unless I want to watch a DVD at all times. I was looking at some of the hardware and the "dongle" that is required to convert DVI to Component will only display 480p, this part really sets me back as I want to watch TV in 1080i.
