Will Asus ENGTX280 TOP Fit?

I doubt it.

If I remember correctly the GTX280 is as long or longer than the 9800GTX, and I had to hack up the drive cage on my Antec Solo case in order for my 9800GTX to fit.

I believe that the GTX 260, GTX 280, 9800GTX(+), and 9800GX2 are all the same length, 10.5 inches.
 
You will have to remove the upper hdd cage to get it to fit. I have a P182 SE, and the 8800GTS 512 barely fit with the hdd cage left in and a 120mm fan on the front of it. But when I upgraded to the GTX 260, I had to remove the upper hdd cage, which from what I have read they GTS and the GTX were supposed to be the same length, but the 260 was much longer.

Just curious: where did you hear that? I was under the impression that both the GTX 260 and 280 were always going to be 10.5" long. (The 8800GT and GTS are 9", and the 9800GTX(+), 9800GX2 and GTX 260/280 are all 10.5".)
 
Man. I'm hearing different answers from everyone. The general consensus is that the GTX280 will fit fine in a P182.

I don't remember where I read it, but when I upgraded to the GTX 260, I googled the length of it to make sure it was going to fit, and what I read said that both the 8800GTS 512 MB and the GTX 260/280 were all 10.5", well that was obviously wrong, since I had to remove the upper HDD cage to fit the 260...Not too big of a deal, but would have been nice to keep the cage lol...

I have a 260 in my P182 SE, which is the same size as the 280, and it fits, I just had to take out the upper HDD cage to get it to fit.
 
is it hard to remove a hdd cage? I've never done it. what purpose does the hdd cage serve?
 
I have the P182, with a 260 and the hard drive cage (which is easily user removable...slides in and out) is installed with plenty of clearance. There upper hard drive cage has trays that you install the hard drive and slide in and out of the cage. I did have to remove the trays which was not a big deal as I planned on installing the hard drive in the lower chamber.
