Have an older Toshiba 25 laptop that I was considering installing Win7 on. Specs are as follows;

P4 3.4Ghz HT northwood processor
1 GB PC3200 ram can be upped to 2GB max
50GB MK5024GAY 16mb cache 7200rpm hd
Geforce 5200go 32mb dedicated card. I think the vid card is the real weak link, possibly no areo?

What are some opinions on how it would fare? Guess I could always just try it and see what happens. With the age of the machine would drivers be a problem??

It would work.

And yes I doubt there will be Aero, I believe you need at least a 64MB card or 128MB. Not 100% about which or if that's even right, lol.

The only real disadvantage is the hard drive size. About 1/4 (or more) of it will be taken up with the install. I would defiantly recommend getting a bigger hard drive or an external.

Yeah hd is a little small, but the machine really does not have a whole lot of programs that take op much space. So would be okay for awhile.

Think I'll just give it a shot and see what happens, definitely nothing to lose and can always revert back if necessary.
