Did it just automatically let you reinstall your stuff or did you have to call microsoft and tell them your going to need to reinstall it ?

Really? When i have gotten mine it is allowed for installing only on 2 computers. And iv kinda assumed if i uninstall it, upgrade to vista for example, then try to reinstall it (having used the second install on my laptop) that it would consider it a third install, and wont let me.

If you bought an OEM copy, you are only allowed to install it on one computer and that is it, done deal, but often they let you activate on a new install.

if you bought a retail copy of office you can install it new on any new computer you want (assuming you took if off the other computer)

Do you give them your old vista cd/cdkey and pay the price or is it you pay $50 after purchasing a new computer from them? I have Vista Ultimate and i wouldnt mind trading up for a Windows 7 OS when released.
