Windows XP hangs at shutdown

I've been using the same setup for awhile, only difference is I added an 80gb HD (formatted and reinstalled). Now windows hangs at the "windows is shutting down" screen. I've searched some newsgroups and have not found an answer. System in sig.

Oh, newest drivers & latest windows update.

Hmmm... nobody knows how to fix this?

Hangs solid ? ?..Because there is an issue with a long shut down period I have seen..

Go to the task manager and close the apps running in back ground to see if that helps.If it does then do it again 1 app at a time to find the bugger creating the hang.

Oh also look in the event viewer to see if there is any report in there.
