Hey guys,

So basically the title says all. Im running WinXP SP2 and whenever I change registry values, they seem to revert back after I reboot.
To clarify, I am the sole user, and am the administrator.

What gives? Any Clues?

What are you changing? Some things may pull from other areas and get rewritten.

Also a lot of antivirus and antispyware software have a registry guard built in. If you change something it may change it back.

Im writing a couple of changes:

1) Get rid of the "Shared Folders" Live Messenger creates in My Docs
This one is done through a regsvr32 command and the dll in the program's directory.

2)Getting rid of Windows Messenger associations with Outlook Express ( 2 entries)
Both are in the same root:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ (Then a folder in there)

Im solely running AVG free as my anti-virus
