9800GX2 for $200 bucks in canada. Also, I have a dual monitor setup, so can I use a 8800GTS to use my second monitor on but have the 9800GX2 in SLi mode? And is it possible to tri SLI?

Also what card is this comparable today? I have been out of sync with PC gaming and would like to get back :D

I would have to say it isn't worth it. For $200 you can get a 260 GTX which will beat the 9800GX2 at higher resolutions and when AA is used. Not to mention the 9800GX2's don't overclock very well.

That 8800gts and 9800x2 would not SLI, you would need two exact same model cards (either two 8800gts's or two 9800gx2's).

The 9800GX2 is comparable to the GTX260 in performance, but in every other regard (temperatures, cooling, power consumption, noise, size, etc) the GTX260 is far superior. Given a choice, I would pick the GTX260 every time.

I notice you're talking about canadian dollars rather than US dollars, but I have lost track of the exchange rate now. $200US would not be a good deal for a 9800GX2 since that is the price of a new GTX260; I'd consider it at $125US.

You do not need the 8800gt for multi monitor, SLI now offers multi monitor support, but as stated above the 260 seems like a better buy.

Problem is... in canada the cheapest a GTX260 goes for is 250 + 13% tax... so 280-290. Is it worth the premium?

I only plan to play games @ 1920x1080
