Would this be a good HTPC?

1GB dual channel Kingston HyperX PC 3200 memory (2x512)
250gig WD HD 8mb buffer 7200
Liteon 16x dvdr
PNY Personal Cinema FX5700, with remote,

I have never looked into HTPC before. But after looking in this forum for a bit. It looks like something I would want.
 
Should be good, my concern: If your going to game on it, maybe get a better videocard. If not, system is a bit overkill. You'll also need a TV tuner card, I reccomend the Hauppage PVR-150 as will everyone else ;)
 
I don't think I'll be gaming on it. I haven't wanted to play any games in a long time. If I do I'll upgrade the card tho.

The Hauppage PVR-150 seems to be a lot like mine. Maybe not. I'm not sure.

I have the PNY MC2 Mulimedia Control Center. Would it be able to do the same things?
 
Not positve but it doesn't appear that card has onboard video encoding which is more or less a must. It'll keep your CPU load at 5-10% rather than a constant 99% when watching TV
