Looking to buy a cheap socket 754 sempron.. preferably a 2600 / 2800 / 90nm. I may also consider buying a 754 athlon64 2800 depending on the price. The original hsf is not necessarily needed.

Check out the Athlon 64s for DTR notebooks on newegg. Apparently they still work in desktop boards but are cheaper and have more cache then their desktop cousins.

Yeah, I believe they're still Clawhammer based. Also, didn't I see a 3400+ DTR running on only 1.4V? Can you say, "the new XP-M"?
