Hey,
My Hitachi Deskstart 80GB ATA drive just crapped out on me. The circuit board somehow caught fire on one of the chips and its fried. I'm 99% sure the drive itself is find along with my data, but the circuit board is gone.
If anyone out there has the same model with a broken drive, but okay circuit board, I'd be interested in it. It's a long shot, but I'm willing to try anything. I have some recent backups for some of the files, but my other backups are 2 months old which didn't include my Anniversary pictures
The drive model is HDS722580VLAT20
PN: 08k0462
Thanks,
Robert
