x16 card in x8 mobo making screen fuzzy

could having a x16 card in x8 mobo making screen fuzzy because with my 7600gs my monitor is so fuzzy you cant see it and all you can see is fuzzyness and wierd colours could this be the problem because iv read that it shouldnt matter, do I have enable something in the bios or something?
 
We have a thread on it. And the conclusion was, you can run a X16 card in a X8 slot no problem because X16 never readlly use up the bandwidth of even x8.

Do a search on the thread
 
It could be the card. But the best thing to do is to get a 2nd machine and insert the card see if you get the same problem
