Short Version: What's better for performance: Sapphire X1900GT, or AT X1900AIW?
I'm pricing up a new system, and for effectively the same price I can get either a X1900GT (Sapphire) or a X1900AIW.
I don't need the extra features of the AIW, but from looking at the specs it seems like the X1900 is a full fledged R580 chip with the full 48 pipes, but is crippled by slow memory speeds, where the X1900GT is the GT version of the chip with 36 pipes.
I know that some GTs can be modded to XT spec, but I cannot count on that, so consider it a dead issue.
My question is: Which card is a better video performer? The X1900GT which is mildly overclockable, or the AIW with it's better processor, but inferior RAM?
I don't want suggestions of good deals I can get online, both cards listed are available locally (In Canada) and there is no savings for me to shop online.
