Your 7900GS beats my 7800GTX which is maxed at 485/1.34 GHz. That's impressive. You'd probably be higher too if you didn't puss out on your X2 overclock.
Night Black said:It depends. Most 7900GS' I've seen don't do better than the ATI unless you get by chance one with a better OC ability than others. Plus the cooler on the ATI is much quieter.

I've got both, but am using the x1950 Pro because I have 2 of them in my system and they pump out the Folding@Home work units like nothing I've ever seen.
*edit*- apparently I can only publish one so I've got the x1950 Pro up. I can switch them though if someone really wants to see the 7900GS numbers.

Apparently I'm the only one who can see my 3dmark06 runs. here's a screen shot of both my 7900GS and x1950Pro side by side in the ORB.Varmint said:What kind of BS numbers are those? Links don't work for me, but the HIS should be around 5000, not 5500. And the 7900GS should be around 4500, not 5700.

If we were to compare the available $199 graphics cards in terms of performance, the new ATI Radeon X1950 Pro is not just better than the Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS but can successfully compete with the more expensive Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT that belongs to the $259 category. Also important is that the Radeon X1950 Pro offers you the option of enabling high-quality anisotropic filtering that surpasses everything Nvidias solutions can offer as of today. In other words, the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro is overall the best graphics card in the $199 price category. It is possible, however, that the price of products like GeForce 7900 GS, 7900 GT and 7950 GT will be going down at a fast rate and the Radeon X1950 Pro may find itself between a cheaper 7900 GS and a tremendous 7950 GT.

The 7900GS is now in my nephew's computer, but If you want me to I can go get it tomorrow and swap it back in, change drivers and run 3dmark06 again. I've got the next 4 weeks off so I have the time.
